Various fashiony people sketches
Monday, June 27th, 2011Since I got my tablet, it’s become a lot more pleasant to sit in bed and surf around. One of the apps I use is Pulse, which is a neat news aggregator/reader. I’ve configured it to pull the feeds from some fashion blogs, and I’ve been just drawing people who show up on these blogs. It’s pretty neat since these are, for the most bit, normal people who have been deemed fashionable by whoever runs the websites.

Couple of fashion type sketches I did some time ago. They are tests for moving the ink style towards fashion. Not quite right yet, if anyone wants to comment on them be my guest.
This post is also to test cross posting to my new Tumblr account, which I still don’t really understand but am told that I should use, apparently.
Wall Street Journal – Ask Teri
Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011Another fun, and quick, job for the great guys at the Journal! Did this for last weeks ‘Ask Teri’ column. The lady on the left is wearing a tight top (you know the kind – the super tight superhero ones where it’s actually fastened at the crotch), and the lady on the right is wearing a twofer. Being fashion-challenged, I had to Google up ‘twofers’. Thankfully the art director sent me some links to check out. Thanks a bunch – that was super helpful!
Fashion sketches
Sunday, January 9th, 2011Did this last night, just for fun. I thought it would be fun to pretend to do fashion illustration, and I actually quite enjoyed drawing these. I was sort of thinking about what clothes I would like to have if I actually could sew (or had oodles of money sitting around).
I’ve never thought of myself as much of a fashion person, and I don’t think I will ever really get fashion. But it was a fun exercise to do these up, and I liked having something different to concentrate on (usually I focus on the figure first).
