One of my rare traditional media pieces, done in color inks, india ink, color pencil and acrylic. You can see the enlarged sketch behind, which was transferred with transfer paper to 18×24 watercolor paper. The original sketch was in my sketchbook.

The finished ‘traditional’ artwork.

With a bit of Photoshop tweaking to the colors.

Was trying to do a draw-off with a friend and record the work on the computer, but I hit the wrong button when I was almost done and it didn’t save a thing. Quite sad. At least the artwork is fine. The ‘ghost’ is not really finished but I’m a bit too bummed to fix it right now.

The Hunted. Pen, india ink, brushes, Photoshop, custom digital brushes, some scanned paper, Stonehenge paper, and a few backaches. Not sure which I prefer. Top is a variant, bottom is the original.

Ink test painting on Stonehenge paper, with Photoshop color tweaks afterwards.

Playing around with Corel Painter. Sketched and painted in Painter, color tweaks in Photoshop. Click on it to see the large view with the textures etc.
Keep6 gallery is having a show called Eco-Bag, Eco-Life which features eco friendly tote bags painted and customized by artists and designers. Here’s mine (a bit of a rushed job, but I think it turned out ok). The bags will be on sale at the gallery and will also be on tour around the world – see the gallery for details.

I just drew straight onto the bag with a HB pencil. I have been rather busy lately so I didn’t have that much time to work on this, so I decided to do something simple and funny. Oh Noz is a funny expression to me.

I painted in the colors with acrylic paint. I was wondering if I could get away with not using an outline but it didn’t really work out.

Finished adding the black outlines. The waves seemed too bare, so I decided to put in lines with a white acrylic marker.

Here’s the final bag!

India ink and gold acrylic on canvas. Was testing how ink works on canvas. Pretty good, actually.

Did this for a gallery show in Illinois. Hopefully the stuff gets there in time.

Wordpress is seriously driving me crazy today. So this is kinda fitting I guess. Brush pen, india ink, watercolor and Photoshop.

Just finished this today. Below is a quick recap of what I did to paint this. ‘Chinese White’, acrylic and color pencil on wood panel. Click the continue thing below to read the whole article. Continue reading ›
