HR Professional WIP

Monday, December 8th, 2008

I’m reorganizing the blog, and so I’m re-porting the work in progress sketches for the HR Professional article.

Here was the original sketch, and some other ideas I pitched to the editor. I quite liked the one with the words going into the head, but the one they picked was nice too. The article was about basic financial terms for people in the human resource industry.

OWL Halloween spread

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

Here’s a spread I did for OWL Kid’s Halloween issue. It accompanies an article that goes ‘How to haunt your house’ with some tips for kids to pull of simple pranks. There was supposed to be another spread about dressing up as a headless ghost, but that was shelved out of respect to the recent events here in Canada.

Dove ‘Pay Beauty Forward’

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

The Dove ‘Pay Beauty Forward‘ site has been launched! I did the illustrations for the backgrounds and small elements like the plants and fish. It was an interesting project that was quite technical despite it’s simple looking finish – a lot of the elements were on separate layers to facilitate the scrolling that was programmed in later. Hope you like the site!

Work/Life book launch

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

I am part of Work/Life, a directory of Canadian illustration & photography. The book and its accompanying exhibition are going to launch on June 5 at Uppercase Gallery in Calgary, Alberta.

I won’t be attending the show myself, but if you are in Calgary do drop by and take photos! The book will be on sale afterwards, and I believe some will be distributed to art directors.

Various tutorial work

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

These are the final images for several tutorials I have written for Photoshop Creative and Painter magazines. They are usually tailored to the needs of the tutorials which describe different techniques and tools, and usually do not represent my usual style which is why these images have never been on my main website.
